Miscellaneous Musings

A mixed week of weather. On Thursday we had very strong gales. The trees are just holding onto their leaves. The countryside looks so beautiful with all the Autumn colours.
My journey from the Eden Valley to Hartside is always a pleasure. There are some amazing rock formations.
Bleak but spectacular

Also stunning skies. As I drove back late afternoon the sun was beginning to illuminate the sun's rays.
Dramatic moody sky

A tumble of cloud hangs over the Eden Valley

There are still a few autumn flowers in bloom.

Vibrant red hot pokers brighten up the flowerbed.
Light my fire

Baby pink nerines add colour against the grape vine.
Pretty in pink

I have picked a small quantity of kale that survived the slugs and snails.
Fresh and tender

On a visit to Northumberland if found this mural in a pub. It dates back to the 1960's and was discovered buried under 20 layers of wallpaper.
Tally ho

House signs can be imaginative.
No decision needed on what colour to paint the bell

I found this former pet shop sign in Hexham.
You can just imagine the pets entering two by two

The bakery in Hexham is getting ready for Halloween.
You too can have a figure like ours. All our cakes are sugar free.
